charan pahadi kaman kamyavan

Charan Pahadi is located in the village of Angrawali, approximately 4 kilometers to the South-West of Kaman. Here, you can find the largest and most significant imprint of Sri Krishna’s feet on a stone in the entire Vraja Mandala. In addition to the lotus footprints of Krishna, visitors can also observe the footprints of the gopis, cowherd boys, and cows at this location. The term ‘Charana’ refers to ‘lotus feet’, while ‘Pahadi’ means ‘hill’ or ‘small mountain’. This place is sometimes referred to as Charana-chinha, with ‘Chinha’ signifying that the impression of the Lord’s lotus feet is indented onto the rocks.

In this area, Lord Krishna used to bring His cows for grazing, accompanied by the cowherd boys. One day, while playing His flute, He climbed to the top of the hill. The enchanting melody of Krishna’s flute immediately captivated the minds of the gopis who were bathing in a nearby kunda. They started climbing the hill in search of Him, and the cowherd boys also followed suit, attracted by the same sound. Even the cows were enchanted by the melody and made their way to the top of the hill. As Krishna continued playing, the hill became completely spellbound and began to melt in ecstasy. The spot where Krishna stood became so soft that His lotus feet left an indentation on the rock. Similarly, the footprints of the gopis, cowherd boys, and cows also left indentations on the rocks as they stood on top of the hill. These footprints have been revered by devotees ever since.
