A few words on these verses – divine appearance of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu :

In these verses, Srila Vrindavan das Thakur sings the glories of the divine appearance of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. It was on a Phalguni Purnima (full moon night of March-April) that Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu had manifested His appearance pastime (1486 AD) at Yogpeeth, Mayapur, presently situated in West Bengal, India. Sri Jagannatha Misra and Saci devi were the immensely fortunate parents of Lord Chaitanya. To propagate Harinama sankirtana, the Lord induced a lunar eclipse at the time of His birth. Due to this eclipse, all the people of Nabadwip, as per the prevalent customs, came over to bathe in the holy Ganges and chanted the holy names of Lord Hari (sankirtana sahita Prabhu-ra avatar, grahanera chhale taha karena prachara). The entire earth became elated and the demigods joined in the celebrations by dancing and glorifying the Supreme Lord. All the auspiciousness of the entire world gathered at Navadvipa on this occasion of Phalguni Purnima.

Chants of Harinama sankirtana filled the land, skies, and water. Be it children, aged, women, good people as well as bad people, all joined in chanting the holy names of Lord Hari (kiba sishu, briddha, nari, sajjana, durjana). The devotees prayed, ‘Let there be such lunar eclipse daily, which induces the people to chant the holy names of Lord Hari’ (sabe bale – nirantara hauk grahan). The demigods showered flowers from the sky and played upon their musical instruments in ecstasy (chaturdike pushpabristi kare Devgana, jaya shabde dundhubi bajoye anukshana). Thus Lord Chaitanya induced one and all to chant the holy names of Lord Hari, providing a glimpse of His future mission. Chants of ‘jaya, jaya’ honoring the appearance of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu were heard from all the fourteen planetary systems (panhu bhelo parakash, bhuvana chaturdash, jaya jaya parila ghoshana). The people of Nadia became filled with bliss. Beholding the wonderful form of little Gauranga, they forgot all of their miseries.
