Radhika Charana Renu – The dust of Srimati Radharani’s lotus feet
(Sri Prema Bhakti Chandrika)
– by Narottam das Thakur

srimati radharani krishna

Verse 1

Radhika charana renu, bhusana kariya tanu
Anayase pabe giridhari
Radhika charanasraya ye kare se mahasaya
Tan re mui yaon balihari

One who embellishes his body with the dust of the lotus feet of Srimati Radharani will easily attain the shelter of Lord Giridhari. One who takes sole refuge of Srimati Radharani’s lotus feet is an exalted devotee. I heartily glorify such a soul.

Verse 2

Jaya jaya radha nama, vrindavana yanra dhama
Krishna sukha vilasera nidhi
Hena radha guna gana, na sunila mora kaan
Vanchita karila more vidhi

All glories to the name of Radha (Radharani) whose abode is Sri Vrindavana! She is the treasure-house of the loving pastimes that pleasure Sri Krishna. If my ears are deprived of hearing such glories then I am cheated by my destiny.

Verse 3

Tanra bhakta sange sada, rasa lila prema katha
Ye kare se paya ghanashyama
Ihate vimukha yei, tara kabhu sidhi nai
Nahi yena suni tara nama

One who always engages in love-filled discussions of Her rasa (mellows of divine love) laden pastimes in the association of devotees, attains Krishna whose bodily hue is like a dark blue monsoon cloud (Ghana Shyama). One who is opposed to this will never attain perfection. Let me never hear the name of such a person.

Verse 4

Krishna nama gane bhai, radhika charana pai
Radha nama gane Krishna chandra
Samshepe kahinu katha, ghuchao manera vyatha
Duhkhamaya anya katha dvandva

O brother ! By chanting the holy name of Krishna, one attains the lotus feet of Srimati Radharani and by chanting Radha’s name one attains moonlike Lord Krishna. In brief words, I have spoken what can dispel the sufferings of your aching heart. Contradictory words will only lead to pain and misery.
